Yep that’s 4 fingers thick. Picked this amazing book after watching @magnusfaviken in the excellent doc series @chefstablenetflix. Can’t begin to say how much respect I have for the work put into this by everyone involved. Wouldn’t it be great to have a tome like this for the British isles before it all disappears into gastropub uniformity?
Inspired by The Bear's rather expansive cooking bookshelves, here's a pic of the one close to hand in my kitchen. These I think are a mix of often used and "want to read" books. I start writing this sitting on the cold stone of Santiago in the morning, waiting for an old cafe to open, waiting for a plane to fly me home.
Today is my Santiago rest day. My chance to rest, relax, recover from the hundreds of kilometres that have passed underfoot in the last 16 days. I should have a lie in. Instead, I'm awake before six.
